Ellsworth Chilton is a sporadically-occurring collaboration between Sean Slattery and David Ryan. For Las Vegas Backyard Wall: Ellsworth Chilton the project's founders dictated that the wall is destroyed by the audience at the opening's end. Previous artists created murals. We chose to make artworks that we actively attempted to sell throughout the night (with moderate success). This created a tension for those who knew that the audience later would be vandalizing the works. After the works were destroyed (collaborated on with the audience) we let the buyers chose between the graffitied version or a recreated unaldulterated version. Before the reveal there was some serious anger from a few patrons over the graffiti.
